In 2012 and 2013, Read A Story volunteers visited more than 30 classrooms (preschool, kindergarten and 1st grade classes) in the Bay Area and distributed more than 1,000 picture books. Read A Story also participated in Literacy Night for parents and Story Time at the Bay Area Rescue Mission.
Read A Story hopes to receive online donations and leftover BART tickets, which are needed to purchase picture books for young children.
Read A Story hopes to continue giving away books for young children in 2013.
