Read A Story Visits A Pre-K Class

San Rafael, CA - December, 2008

Two high school volunteers read to the pre-K children in both English and Spanish.  The children received picture books in both Spanish and English to take home to share with their families. 


 

 Please remember that you are very important in a child's life.  Encourage a child by reading to your child or a child each day!!

Read A Story Visits a Kindergarten Class

Richmond, California  - June 2, 2008

 

 A volunteer, a retired teacher who is also known as the Reading Wizard, makes a visit to a kindergarten class.  Each child and the teacher received a copy of the book that he read to the class to take home.

 

Read A Story booth at the El Sobrante Stroll - September 21, 2008

 

Read A Story gave away over 500 picture books at the El Sobrante Stroll.  We also gave out hundreds of schools supplies, including notebooks, bookmarkers, ruler-hole punchers, folders, crayons, pencils, pencil sharpeners, glue sticks, crayons and other supplies for school.  Read A Story had a raffle and information about reading to children for parents, grandparents and other caretakers. 

 

Thank you First 5 Contra Costa Children and Families Commission for funding the Read A Story booth and making this possible in 2008 and again in 2009. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Read A Story at the El Sobrante Stroll - September 20, 2009

 

Thank you to First 5 Contra Costa Children and Families Commission for the Family Friendly Community Grant.  With this grant, we gave out picture books to children 0-5 and reading tip information to their families.
